The Louisiana Department of Health has declared an outbreak of hepatitis A in the state. Although most of the recent cases have been reported in Morehouse Parish, cases have been reported in other parts of the state.

The Louisiana Department of Health will be holding a special one-day flu vaccination promotion on Thursday, December 13 from 2 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at various parish health units around the state. These vaccinations are available at no cost to the patient and allow people an easy way to get flu shots.

The flu vaccine is readily available for both children and adults throughout the state at healthcare providers and community pharmacies. In addition, the Louisiana Department of Health is making flu shots available at parish health units to allow people an easy way to get flu shots at no cost to the patient. Louisiana state health officials are investigating a confirmed case of measles in New Orleans. The illness was confirmed through laboratory testing in New Orleans resident who recently traveled out of the country. This case is not related to a positive measles case reported earlier in April of this year. In both cases, the individuals were not vaccinated.

Due to widespread flu activity remaining throughout Louisiana, the Louisiana Department of Health will continue to offer flu vaccines at no cost at Parish Health Units across the state while supplies last. The vaccine is available to anyone who has not yet received a vaccine this flu season.
