Today, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals released its final pharmacy reform concept and announced a public stakeholder meeting next Wednesday, Aug. 29, to present the department’s plans and answer questions about the modernization of Louisiana's Medicaid pharmacy program.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals will hold a forum at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at the LSU School of Dentistry to discuss including dental services as a benefit in some Bayou Health Plans and to gather feedback on enhancing Medicaid fee-for-service dental care.

Today, the Louisiana Division of Administration and the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals outlined a plan to address the budget shortfall resulting from Congress’s action that resulted in a decrease to the state’s disaster-recovery Federal Medical Assistance Percentage (FMAP) rate from 71.92 percent to a projected 65.51 percent – the rate represents the lowest reimbursement rate Louisiana has had in more than 25 years.

Medicaid and LaCHIP Recipients in Southwest, Central and North Louisiana Have Until May 29 to Select a Health Plan for June 1 Go-Live Date Eligible Medicaid and LaCHIP recipients in Geographic Service Area C, the last part of the state to transition to BAYOU HEALTH, who have not yet selected a Health Plan have until Tuesday, May 29 at 5 p.m. Central Daylight Time to choose a Health Plan and be enrolled in that Plan effective for the go-live date of June 1.
