Senate Resolution 6 charges the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) with evaluating and reporting on potential funding solutions for in-home support providers. The resolution requests LDH provide annual data beginning in 2008 on rate reductions for in-home support providers versus nursing home providers and any unfunded mandates charged to this provider group. The resolution further requires LDH identify realistic funding strategies and provide a detailed plan and timeline for implementation to ensure sustainability of in-home services.

ACT 158 of the 2015 Regular Legislative Session - The charge of ACT 158 of the 2015 Regular Session was to provide transparency relative to Medicaid managed care programs. ACT 158 amended the previous requirements for a managed care transparency report initiated by ACT 212 of the 2013 Regular Legislative Session.

In response to the reporting requirements set forth in House Concurrent Resolution 25 of the 2016 Regular Session, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) submits the attached report to the Legislature, the Commissioner of Administration and the Task Force on Structural Changes in Budget and Tax Policy, which outlines the department’s efficient operations for FY 16-17.

SCR 17 of the 2015 Regular Legislative Session directed the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) to evaluate and report on the health benefits and costs of adding Krabbe disease to the current list of mandatory newborn screenings to be performed when it is recommended by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Discretionary Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children, the American College of Medical Genetics, and the Louisiana Newborn Screening Advisory Committee.
