Bobby Jindal and officials with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH), and Louisiana State Police (LSP) announced the ban of multiple new synthetic marijuana compounds called "PX 1," "PX 2" and "MDMB-CHMICA" this week. Designer drugs, sold under names such as Blue Diamond and Mojo, have been linked to recent deaths and numerous hospitalizations in Louisiana hospitals in the past few months.

Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Jay Dardenne, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) Secretary Kathy H. Kliebert, and DHH Public Health Assistant Secretary J.T. Lane received their annual flu shots at the East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit today. The annual flu shot event is part of the State's efforts to remind members of the public about the importance of getting a flu shot or nasal spray to protect against the flu. The 22nd Annual Louisiana Shots for Tots State Conference was held November 6-7 in New Orleans. A new consumer access module known as MyIR was unveiled by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital's (DHH) Office of Public Health's - (OPH) Immunization Program. MyIR provides Louisiana families with access to their personal immunization records and important tool in helping Louisiana residents stay up-to-date with the recommended immunization schedule.
