Medicaid Hotline – Update on Call Volume and Wait Times

The Medicaid customer service hotline at 1-888-342-6207 is a great resource for Medicaid applicants and enrollees. Before you call, consider using Medicaid’s new online Self-Service Portal for easy online assistance. The portal is available on any desktop computer or mobile device. You can go there to fill out an application or a renewal, make a change to your information, request a new Medicaid card or find out the status of your application. Just follow the simple steps to set up an account and you can manage your own information without wait times. This video shows you how to set up an account if you don’t already have one.
If you do call the customer service hotline, be aware that some callers to 1-888-342-6207 will be automatically transferred to a secondary call center to get faster assistance with application and renewals. When a call is transferred, the line will go silent. This is normal. The call has not been dropped. There is no on-hold messaging or on-hold music on this line, but we are working to change this. Please stay on the line until someone picks up the line to assist you. This could take several minutes. Your call will remain in line in the order it was received.
Please note: If you have already completed an application for Medicaid, you will receive a decision by mail within 45 days. If your application is related to a disability, it may take up to 90 days to make a decision.
