988 Lifeline

Image of a smart phone dialing 988 with a statement, "Feel like your drinking or drug use is out of control? 988 can help."

Sometimes it can feel like drinking or drugs are starting to control you.  You don't have to face those feelings alone.

When you call, text or chat online with 988, the 988 specialist you're connected to will listen without judgment and help you reduce the intense feelings you may be dealing with.

Your 988 specialist can also connect you to local resources and longer-term support (like therapists or drug or alcohol recovery services).

National Fentanyl Awareness Day

Infographic stating between 2022 and 2024 Louisiana experienced a 45.8% decrease in opioid involved deaths and a 46% decrease in synthetics opioid (fentanyl) deaths).

Opiod and synthetic opiods like fentanyl are highly addictive and can be deadly. Protect yourself and your loved ones by knowing how to prevent an overdose.

Naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan®, is a prescription medicine that can be used on someone for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose.  In Louisiana, naloxone is available to anyone without a prescription at local pharmacies.
