Baton Rouge – The Louisiana Department of Health – Office for Addictive Disorders will be sponsoring public forums throughout the state to inform the public about statewide programs and services that are available to prevent and treat addiction.
“The forums will allow concerned citizens the opportunity to express community needs as they relate to the treatment and prevention of addiction,” said Michael Duffy, assistant secretary for the Office of Addictive Disorders.
This year’s theme is “Together We Stand: Building Collaboratives to Treat, Prevent and Recover from Addictions.”
The theme was selected in the hope these forums will result in communities coming together in the fight against substance abuse and addiction.
The Office of Addictive Disorders provides a full range of prevention and treatment services to those affected by substance abuse and problem gambling. These services include outpatient clinics, outreach clinics and inpatient treatment centers throughout the state.
