Medicaid Customer Service Hotline Experiencing High Call Volume

Louisiana Medicaid is aware of the high number of calls to our customer service hotline at 1-888-342-6207. If you receive a rapid, busy signal or a period of silence, the system has reached its call limit. You can try your call again later. Representatives are available from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Callers on hold at 6 p.m. will be helped when a representative becomes available.
Or you can use Medicaid’s online Self-Service Portal for easy online help. The portal is available on any computer or mobile device. For help using the Self-Service Portal, click here. On the portal, you can fill out an application, renew your coverage, or make a change to your information. If you have applied for Medicaid, it may take up to 45 days to process your application. If you have made a change to your Medicaid case, it may take up to 30 days to process the change.
If you need to request a new Medicaid card or find out the status of your application, you can do this on the portal too. Just follow the simple steps to set up an account and you can manage your own information without wait times.
