About Us

The Bureau of Minority Health Access (BMHA) is a bureau that is within the Office of Community Partnerships & Health Equity. The BMHA works to minimize health disparities among underserved racial and ethnic populations in the Louisiana through collaboration, partnerships, and education. The Bureau collaborates and partners with a diverse group of organizational stakeholders and people, populations, and communities, dedicated to understanding and decreasing health inequities that specifically challenge minorities and underserved populations in Louisiana.

Programs led or sponsored by the Bureau include the following:

  • Own Your Own Health Online Physical Activity and Nutrition Challenges
  • Community Preparedness Response Network
  • Safe Talk Suicide Alertness Training
  • Minority Health Month Activities - done via a partnership with the Louisiana Primary Care Association
