Secure .gov websites use HTTPS LDH is moving forward with a plan to distribute food benefits on EBT cards. If the USDA, who administers the SNAP program, is prepared and ready to move money into states’ accounts, we will use federal dollars to fund SNAP recipients’ accounts. If they are not ready, LDH will proceed with our state-funded program to provide food assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and households with children through their existing EBT cards.
Health Policy, Information & Promotion
Policy and Planning is a section within the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health. The section sets policy, monitors legislation, promulgates rules, facilitates grant reviews, and issues guidance for new program initiatives for the LDH OPH.
Policy and Planning also directs the development of LDH OPH strategic and operational planning processes and assures performance accountability through the Louisiana Performance Accountability System or LAPAS.
The Section's goal is to impact program outcomes by producing effective, efficient and results-oriented planning that assures quality services to better meet the needs of Louisiana citizens.
