The Louisiana Department of Health’s Office of Behavioral Health will be holding meetings this coming Monday in Lafayette to gather experiences, ideas and concerns about behavioral health services.

These meetings are set for September 30 at the South Regional Library, 6101 Johnston St. in Lafayette. The first meeting, aimed at community members and representatives with an interest in mental health and/or substance abuse, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A separate meeting for healthcare providers will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. If you are in need of sign language interpretation, email your request to ldhlistens@la.gov

The meetings in Lafayette are part of a larger series of meetings being held throughout the state by the Office of Behavioral Health in late September and early October.

If you cannot make either of these meetings, there are community and provider sessions in the afternoon in Lake Charles. These will be held at The Tower, One Lakeshore Drive in the 12th floor conference room. The community meeting is at 3 p.m. and the provider meeting begins at 4:30 p.m.

Each stop on Listening Tour 2.0 will allow individuals, community representatives and providers an opportunity to share with state officials their ideas and concerns about their experiences with the behavioral health system.
