The Louisiana Department of Health will close oyster beds in areas 1-25 beginning at sunset on Monday, September 14, 2020, due to the potential of poor water quality because of Hurricane Sally.
Areas 26, 27, and 28 remain closed due to Hurricane Laura.
These shellfish-growing areas will remain closed until state health officials determine the waters are clear and within approved area criteria established by the National Shellfish Sanitation Program.
