Influenza Surveillance Reports & Other Respiratory Viruses 

LDH Office of Public Health reports FLU activity in Louisiana. 

Influenza season is typically from October through May each year. These reports are published weekly during the height of influenza season. After the season ends in May, influenza data is still collected and analyzed weekly, however reports are published monthly during June through September, as long as activity remains low. Disease surveillance data is also provided on the Respiratory Virus Dashboard.

Of note, CDC does not produce surveillance reports over the summer months, but the influenza surveillance website (www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly) is updated year-round with limited surveillance data.
