About the Bureau of Performance Improvement
The purpose of the Bureau of Performance Improvement (formerly known as Health Improvement Support Unit) is to:
- Regularly generate the data necessary for executive leadership to understand the status of priority initiatives, and to maintain agency-wide focus on achievement of priority goals (data dashboard)
- Package and disseminate the data to drive performance in priority areas;
- Lead the agency through steps toward public health agency accreditation.
Currently under Assistant Secretary Dr. Parham Jaberi and Deputy Assistant Secretary Myra Lowe, the Bureau of Performance Improvement is dedicated to ensuring that performance improvement (PI) and quality improvement (QI) programs are developed using data. Priorities for improvements are aligned with ongoing strategic goals. Organization-wide performance improvement and quality improvement initiatives are focused on improving operational and programmatic efficiencies and effectiveness.
