Target Audience:  Anyone responsible for writing, updating, or exercising an emergency operations plan

Format:  Classroom Instruction

Overview:  This course covers the process of creating emergency response plans from identification of need through evaluating plan effectiveness. Plan development is described in a logical series of steps, with each section containing strategies and advice for simplifying the process and avoiding pitfalls. The course includes information on plan writing resources and covers several standardized planning formats which can be used for a variety of situations.

1.       Describe the basic considerations for emergency planning

2.       Describe hazard analysis and identification of resource needs

3.       Discuss the common components of an emergency plan

4.       Share experiences from planning for specific real-world emergencies

5.       Discuss the importance of training and exercises in plan improvement

6.       List the planning resources that are readily available

7.       Give examples of plan formatting options
