In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Kathy Kliebert, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri and State Health Officer Dr. Jimmy Guidry will kick off the state's annual flu vaccination campaign at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit.

Each year, more than 200,000 Americans are hospitalized because of the flu and more than 36,000 die from influenza-related causes. Louisiana normally doesn't see increased flu activity until January, but it's important to be prepared by being protected.
