First Episode of Psychosis Treatment Programs
First episode psychosis (FEP) can be described as a disruption to a person’s thoughts and perceptions that may make it difficult for them to understand what is real and what is not. Research has shown that people experiencing psychosis have better treatment outcomes when they receive care as early as possible following their first experience with these symptoms.
Coordinated specialty care (CSC) is designed to meet the needs of those experiencing FEP. The CSC model incorporates a comprehensive package of services, including medication/primary care, psychotherapy, case management, family education and support, and supported employment and education.
Providers
The Local Governing Entities (LGE) below, EPIC-NOLA, and the EpiCenter provide coordinated specialty care for people who have been experiencing psychosis for less than two years. Each provider also has specific inclusion and exclusion criteria for admittance to their FEP programs. Contact the provider directly to discuss your individual needs and their eligibility criteria.
