

Bureau of Health Services Financing (Medicaid)
The Bureau of Health Services Financing is the LDH division responsible for the Medicaid Program, with regional offices that provide in-person assistance with Medicaid eligibility applications and information along with numerous application centers throughout Louisiana.
In 2024, more than 1.6 million people were enrolled in Louisiana’s Medicaid program. Medicaid provides healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. The program is a shared effort between the state of Louisiana and the federal government. Eligible individuals can receive hospital and physician care, prescriptions, lab and x-ray services, home health services, nursing facility services and more.
