The Department of Health has updated new enrollment figures for Healthy Louisiana, the State's expanded Medicaid program, with total enrollment of new adult members having reached 208,879 adults as of June 15.

This figure includes 4,201 cases* that were eligible for expedited enrollment because the individual(s) was already determined to be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps. Individuals who enrolled in SNAP after March 31, 2016 will not receive an invitation letter for enrollment but may still be able to express enroll. These individuals should call (888) 342-6207 for information.

Another 15,260 cases were accepted from in-person, online or telephone enrollment.

Other statistics updated after the first two weeks of enrollment include:

  • 105,000 offer letters have been mailed to SNAP recipients who are likely to meet Healthy Louisiana financial eligibility requirements.
  • 18,221 calls have been made to our dedicated Medicaid enrollment center. Peak call times have been between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • More than 56,964 unique visitors have accessed the Department's Medicaid online application site, www.healthy.la.gov, submitting over 9,300 applications.

The Department of Health will provide additional enrollment statistics as they become available.

*An enrollment case may include more than one person.
