Bring Back Louisiana, the statewide grassroots effort to break down barriers to the COVID-19 vaccines, this weekend will launch its first vaccination events in the 9 pilot zip codes announced in March.
Leading up to each vaccination event, community partners have been conducting a variety of outreach efforts to make residents aware of the events and answer questions about the vaccines.

- Knocked on 2,983 doors
- Handed out 5,149 door hangers and flyers
- Made 2,513 phone calls
- Sent 17,440 text messages
Robocalls recorded by Regional Medical Directors are going out to every landline in all public health regions encouraging residents to call our COVID Vaccine Hotline to ask questions and get the facts about the COVID vaccines.
Residents can also call the COVID Vaccine Hotline to get information about where to receive a vaccine, get help making an appointment and have their questions answered by a medical professional.
The hotline number is 1-855-453-0774. Residents can call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. To date, the hotline has received 1,798 calls and scheduled 641 appointments.
The Bring Back Louisiana campaign has sent nearly 105,000 pieces of direct mail to spread the word about the upcoming events. This included 57,522 mailers that went to Baton Rouge households and those in surrounding communities to support the ongoing vaccination site at the Bon Carre Business Center.
