Health officials urge the public to stay up to date on their vaccines

COVID-19 vaccines, including the updated COVID-19 bivalent booster which is authorized for people ages 12 and up, will be available, too.

The Louisiana Department of Health, in partnership with the New Orleans Health Department, will offer monkeypox vaccines, including second doses, at events starting next week.

The Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health Region 9 (Northshore) has monkeypox vaccines available at its parish health units (PHUs).

These updated boosters offer continued protection against the original strain, while also offering better protection against the BA.4 and BA.5 Omicron variants, which represent over 90% of currently circulating virus.

The Louisiana Department of Health today announced it is now able to expand eligibility for JYNNEOS, the monkeypox vaccine, thanks to increased supply.

The Health Hub will be located at the main North Rampart Street entrance of Louis Armstrong Park (801 N. Rampart St.), conveniently located near the French Quarter where many Southern Decadence events and activities will occur.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) Region 4 (Acadiana) has monkeypox vaccines available at its parish health units.
