Louisiana Operator Certification Program

Welcome to the Operator Certification website. Here you will find current information related to this program.

Operators of both Water and Wastewater facilities are required to meet requirements set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Committee of Certification, and as required by State law.

“Pursuant to Act 486, effective August 1, 2022, criminal convictions may not be used as a sole basis for denial of a license.  An applicant convicted of a crime may request the licensing entity for a determination of pre-application eligibility.”

There was a software error that removed hours from certain operators. Efforts were made to correct the issue; however, regrettably, not all discrepancies could be successfully traced and resolved. If you received a Non-Renewal letter in error, please email opcert@la.gov or call 225-342-7508 and we will review your file and make the correction.
