Louisiana Medicaid is looking for both Medicaid members and people with expertise in health care to participate in the Medical Advisory Committee or a Medical Advisory Subcommittee.
Committee members will share their experiences and provide expertise to the Medicaid program to help meet the health needs of all Medicaid members. The Medical Advisory Committee meets quarterly in Baton Rouge, and the meetings are a mixture of special presentations, discussions, and an open forum for discussion. (Please note that during COVID-19, all Committee meetings are being held virtually.)
There are also several subcommittees focused on adult medicine, emergency medicine, behavioral health, obstetrics/gynecology, neonatology, pediatrics, and dentistry. These subcommittees discuss clinical topics based on subcommittee members’ input or posed by Louisiana Medicaid. There may also be ad hoc subcommittees to provide help on various topics. Therefore, even if your specialty (or specialty of the person you are nominating) is not in the list below, please submit the nomination for future consideration.
Louisiana Medicaid values gender/sex, race/ethnicity, and geographic diversity as well as diversity in nominees’ role in the health care system (e.g., Medicaid member, member advocate, provider, etc).
Membership in the Medical Advisory Committee entails participation in quarterly meetings for a term of three years including attending in-person at least once per year.
Participation in the Medical Advisory Subcommittees entails attending regular virtual meetings for a term of at least one year, as well as recruitment and engagement with experts from the field and within the Committee.
