Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) Request for Comment

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is developing competitive procurements for qualified companies to serve as single benefit managers for our Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and pharmacy benefit (PBM) programs. Louisiana Medicaid serves more than 1.8 million Louisianans, just over 40% of the state’s population. The NEMT program provides transportation for Medicaid enrollees to and from medical appointments or to fill prescriptions. The PBM is responsible for assuring quality pharmacy services while developing efficiencies in operation, service and cost.

LDH is committed to transforming its NEMT and PBM programs to provide better care and better health for its members. As part of this goal, LDH seeks input from the public using the form below. The last day to provide feedback is Saturday, July 31, 2021.
