About the Office of Public Health

The LDH Office of Public Health is comprised of 1,100 professionals across Louisiana who are charged with protecting and promoting the health of the communities of our state. The agency operates more than fifty programs with staff in 63 parish health units, three speciality clinics, nine regional offices, three centers, fifteen bureaus, and nearly 600 contractual agreements.

About Tracking

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Environmental Public Health Tracking Network (CDC Tracking) is a premier online resource for environmental health information. It will improve our nation’s understanding of how the environment affects peoples’ health, making our communities safer. At the national level, CDC Tracking partners extensively with other states, agencies, organizations and U.S. universities. The CDC and Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) entered into a cooperative agreement in 2009, renewed in 2014, to establish an Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (EPHT) in Louisiana.

About Us

The Bureau of Performance Improvement is dedicated to ensuring that performance improvement (PI) and quality improvement (QI) programs are developed in alignment with the OPH Strategic Plan and State Health Improvement Plan.
