BATON ROUGE - Today, Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein issued the following statement in regard to a joint announcement from Louisiana Hospital Association and Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans, and an announcement from Louisiana State Medical Society, that these organizations support the state's proposal to implement Coordinated Care Networks in Medicaid.

Greenstein said "This announcement marks significant progress in our efforts to transform the state's broken Medicaid program. I want to thank the Louisiana Hospital Association, Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans and the State Medical Society for their valuable contributions and ideas, which have built a stronger plan to improve the way we deliver health care to over a quarter of our state's population. We welcome their support and look forward to working with both organizations and their members to implement this historic transformation."
