BATON ROUGE - Today, Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein announced that DHH and Magellan Health Services will be holding forums around the state to educate Louisiana residents and providers about improvements to the state's behavioral health care services through the Louisiana Behavioral Health Partnership.

"This is a great opportunity for behavioral health care recipients and providers to learn more about the changes we are making to expand services and improve quality of care for Louisianians," said Secretary Greenstein. "The Behavioral Health Partnership is first and foremost about improving health outcomes in Louisiana. We know we must work together to make it a success. That begins by making sure people get answers to their questions and have a voice in implementing this partnership."

The Department selected Magellan Health Services as the statewide management organization (SMO) to coordinate care and manage mental health and addictive disorder services for more than 150,000 Louisiana residents - 100,000 adults and 50,000 children. This includes the Coordinated System of Care (CSoC), which will provide services to 2,500 children with significant behavioral health challenges or co-occurring disorders who are in, or at, imminent risk of out-of-home placement.

The public forums begin Monday, Dec. 5 and will continue through Tuesday, Dec. 20. These forums are informational sessions, designed as a way for health care providers and citizens to interact with and learn more about the Partnership, Magellan and the company's plans to for service delivery in Louisiana. The forums also allow DHH and Magellan an opportunity to give information about services that will be available in each area.

All consumers, parents and families, providers and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in any of the forums listed below. To register, click here.
