BATON ROUGE – Officials from the Louisiana Department of Health will introduce their economic development planning tool, IMPLAN, at a news conference Friday, June 4, 10 a.m. at the St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling.
The IMPLAN economic impact assessment software system is a free service of DHH’s Bureau of Primary Care and Rural Health that provides economic analysis and information used for feasibility studies, planning physical and service expansions, preparing grant proposals and in physician recruitment and retention efforts.
The system was instrumental in the hospital receiving approval for $18.5 in bonds that are being used to finance recent expansions.
Dr. Fred Cerise, LDH secretary, will join Fred Martinez, CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital and Albert Laque, parish president, at the news conference.
