Baton Rouge --- The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve has awarded Department of Health employee Sue Merrill its Patriot Award. The award is meant to recognize public and private employers who support their employees who are members of the Army National Guard or Reserve.

Merrill was awarded for her support of Maj. Mary Burns, an Army Reserve nurse who also works in the LDH Bureau of Community Supports and Services in St. Tammany Parish. Maj.
