Louisiana Sen. Mike Walsworth from District 33 will host a community meeting Wednesday, Sept. 2, to address the recent discovery of the Naegleria fowleri ameba in the North Monroe Water System, which serves the town of Sterlington in North Monroe. The meeting will be held in the Sterlington High School auditorium and will begin at 6 p.m. Louisiana Department of Health (DHH) staff will be on hand to provide an update and answer questions from the public.
