March 15, 2007 More Pandemic Flu Training Scheduled for Southwest Louisiana
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, -
Lake Charles – The communities of Southwest Louisiana are coming together to prepare for future emergencies such as natural disasters and disease outbreaks.
Past disasters, especially the aftermath of Hurricane Rita, demonstrated the value of multiple organizations (government, businesses, school systems, non-profits and individuals) working together.
In order to continue to foster these vital partnerships, the Southwest Louisiana Pandemic Flu Task Force will host a Pandemic Flu Awareness Conference on March 21. This conference will be from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Burton Business Center building of McNeese State University.
The goal is for all area officials and community leaders to be educated on the threat of a pandemic flu and strategies on how to educate their communities.
