Secure .gov websites use HTTPS LDH is moving forward with a plan to distribute food benefits on EBT cards. If the USDA, who administers the SNAP program, is prepared and ready to move money into states’ accounts, we will use federal dollars to fund SNAP recipients’ accounts. If they are not ready, LDH will proceed with our state-funded program to provide food assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and households with children through their existing EBT cards.
March 20, 2023 Medicaid is now texting members
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, - Beginning Monday, March 20, 2023, Louisiana Medicaid will start using a text messaging service to send members important reminders about their health insurance coverage. These text messages may include reminders about renewals and reminders to update contact information. Members will still receive notices by mail.
Medicaid texts will always come from 72147. Members are encouraged to remain subscribed so they don’t miss out on important information about their health insurance.
Members can update their contact information in one of several ways that are listed on healthy.la.gov.
