Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Dr. Fred Cerise, along with officials from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will attend the grand opening of a new Louisiana community health center in the city of Zachary.
“Opening more community health care centers such as this one is a key strategy of the Governor’s Health Care Reform Panel to provide comprehensive, cost-effective medical treatment,” Cerise said. “We are proud to be there to celebrate the opening of the latest center, so we can demonstrate to national health care workers what we are doing here at the state level.”
Dr. Cerise will join Dennis Williams, HRSA deputy administrator, and Dr. Sam Shekar, head of HRSA’s Bureau of Primary Health Care, in celebrating the opening of the Chaneyville Medical and Dental Clinics at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
The clinics are housed in the Chaneyville Community Center at 13211 Jackson Road in Zachary. Both clinics are affiliated with the St. Helena Community Health Center.
The event is free and open to the public. Media are invited to attend. For more information, please contact the LDH Bureau of Media and Communications at 225-342-1532.
