Baton Rouge – A media briefing with Dr. Louis Cataldie, medical incident commander for the recovery of deceased victims of Hurricane Katrina, will take place Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at the State Office of Emergency Preparedness Headquarters, 7667 Independence Blvd. in Baton Rouge.
At this time, Dr. Cataldie will answer questions regarding the recovery operation thus far, such as the number of bodies identified, causes of death that have been determined, a timeline for when family members can claim the body of their loved one and other information.
These briefings will be scheduled weekly. Media are invited to attend the briefing, ask questions and take still or video footage. Due to the important work of completing the recovery mission as soon as possible, Dr. Cataldie will no longer be available for individual interviews outside of these briefings.
