The Louisiana Department of Health's (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) Region 9 (Northshore) will host flu vaccination clinics this month and in November to ensure Louisianans have access to the flu vaccine. The Louisiana Department of Health's (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) in Southwest Louisiana (Region 5) will host a drive-thru flu vaccination clinic at our Calcasieu Parish Health Unit (PHU) on October 10 to encourage everyone to get their flu shot. COVID-19 vaccines, both the primary series and the COVID-19 bivalent booster, as well as the monkeypox vaccine, will also be available.

All Louisiana children ages 6 months and up are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, following the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) accepting the recommendation of its Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorization of the three-dose Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and the two-dose Moderna vaccine.
