Senate Resolution (SR) 104 of the 2022 Regular Session requests the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) to provide a written report of its findings on the desirability and feasibility of permitting Medicaid enrollees over the age of 65 to participate in a pooled trust to the Senate Health and Welfare Committee.

As required by Act 534 of the 2014 Regular Session, the state superintendent of education, secretary of the Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS), and the secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) shall review and evaluate the effectiveness of current state programs, including but not limited to sex education provided by public schools, aimed at reducing the rate of teen pregnancy and preventing the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases among youth of Louisiana.

In 1995, the Louisiana Legislature passed Act 985, which required that the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) prepare a yearly report card describing the overall health of its citizens and health‐related issues affecting Louisianans. In addition to informing Louisianans of the overall health circumstances in our state, this annual publication is an effective tool for health planning and evaluating the effectiveness of health programs.

Senate Bill (SB) 259 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session, known as the “Public Benefit Integrity Law” requires annual reports from state agencies administering federal and state social services and financial assistance programs on the policies and procedures in place to enhance program integrity; to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse of federal and state resources.

House Concurrent Resolution No. 94 requested the Louisiana Department of Health and Department of Children and Family Services, jointly, to study the feasibility, best structure, and potential return on investment of a program to provide children born in Louisiana whose birth was covered or eligible for coverage by Medicaid with a trust that, at maturity, can be used to fund the child's postsecondary education in this state, the purchase of a home in this state, or formation of a business in this state.

House Resolution (HR) 158 of the 2022 Regular Legislative Session directed the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) to conduct a study focused on the “risks associated with gender reassignment procedures on minors, including genital and non-genital surgeries, and chemical treatments such as puberty-blockers and cross-sex hormones.”
