The Louisiana Department of Health’s Bureau of Minority Health Access and Promotions (BMHA) and the Louisiana Primary Care Association (LPCA) will actively participate in this year’s Minority Health Month campaign during the entire month of April, by sponsoring and cosponsoring minority health activities through federally qualified health centers across the state. During National Minority Health Month, HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) and federal and non-federal partners will focus on the impact COVID-19 is having on racial and ethnic minority and American Indian and Alaska Native communities and underscore the need for these vulnerable communities to get vaccinated as more vaccines become available.
This year's theme for the National Minority Health Month 2022 is "Give Your Community A Boost." Vaccination against COVID-19 is an important tool to help us stop the spread of the virus and to bring this pandemic to an end so we can get back to doing the things we love doing.
