Reports: Legislative

In response to ACT 194 of the 2001 Regular Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is required to report on the results obtained through the birth defects surveillance system.

In response to Senate Resolution 260 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) submits the attached report regarding Behavioral Health Medicaid Managed Care Delivery Systems.

The Department of Health submits a detailed monthly report to the Legislature that provides a comprehensive overview of Medicaid spending. The reports include projections for future revenues and expenditures for the given state fiscal year.

HR 208 required this report be submitted to the House Committee on Health and Welfare by the Louisiana Bullying Awareness and Treatment Task force; charged with developing a comprehensive, coordinated plan to prevent bullying and address the mental health needs of youths who are victims of bullying as well as youths who are involved in bullying.

In response to SR 255 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session, SR 255 requests the Louisiana Department of Health, the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, and the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to study and make recommendations relative to certain provisions of Louisiana law on medical marijuana.

In response to ACT 497 of the 2018 Regular Legislative Session, the Healthy Moms, Health Babies Advisory Council submits the report on addressing maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity.

In accordance with Act 263 of 2019 Regular Session of the Legislature, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is submitting information in regards to Act 263. Act 263 provides that LDH shall develop a comprehensive plan to administer the Medicaid prescription drug program.

In an effort to improve the quality and accessibility of NEMT services, provide a greater degree of choice for Medicaid beneficiaries, and potentially generate cost savings for the state, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH or “the Department”) has examined the impact of transportation network company adoption, as directed by House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) No. 89 of the 2019 Regular Session.

In response to SCR 16 and HCR 34 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) submits the report regarding actions as are necessary to add spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) to the newborn screening panel of this state.

In response to HR 203 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) submits the report on the study and recommendations concerning potential consumer protection measures relative to kratom.
