STATE OFFICE CLOSURE - INCLEMENT WEATHER
Commissioner of Administration Taylor Barras is announcing that all state offices in Cameron Parish will be closed Wednesday, June 17, 2026 and Thursday, June 18, 2026, due to the impending tropical storm.
All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty, report for duty, or those who should report to alternate work sites as necessary. Officials continue to monitor conditions throughout the state, and this announcement may be updated.
This office closure applies to all nonessential employees, including those authorized to work from home.

The Louisiana Department of Health has updated its website to reflect the latest number of positives and will continue to update its website at noon each day.
Deaths To date, the Department has reported 34 deaths related to COVID-19. Below is a table of all reported deaths to date.

Additional cluster identified In addition to Lambeth House, where LDH has identified 42 COVID-19 patients and reported 9 deaths, the Department has newly identified a second cluster at Chateau D’Ville in Donaldsonville, with 5 cases all identified today. LDH is working with this facility to help minimize the spread of this infection, and has requested additional assistance from the CDC.
Reporting Following the model of the CDC and many other states, the Department has moved to once daily reporting on the number of positive COVID-19 cases and deaths. The Department is now reporting positive cases and completed tests from the state lab and commercial labs. The Department’s dashboard was updated today at 12 p.m. The next update will be tomorrow at noon and will daily updates will follow at noon seven days a week.
