Sen. Bob Kostelka announced today the Northeast Legislative Delegation has chosen its consortium members. Forty-five members have been chosen for this group, which services a 12-parish region (Caldwell, Union, Madison, Tensas, Franklin, Jackson, Morehouse, West Carroll, East Carroll, Lincoln, Ouachita and Richland) in northeast Louisiana.
The first meeting of the Northeast Louisiana Health Care Consortium (Region 8) will be held Thursday, Sept. 30 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The meeting will begin at 2 p.m.
The meeting agenda includes election of a chairperson and other officers, and a presentation on the Governor’s Health Care Reform Panel and Regional Consortium, the roles and responsibilities of the consortium, other organizational business and scheduling of future meetings.
Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting and offer comment.
“People are very interested in health care reform, as they have shown by their interest and enthusiasm for the reform effort, as well as their genuine desire to become involved in our efforts,” Sen. Kostelka said. “We know their input will be extremely beneficial in our effort to reform health care in Louisiana.”
