Senator Ben Nevers announced today the Region 9 legislative delegation has chosen its consortium members. The first meeting of this group, the Region 9 Louisiana Health Care Consortium, will be Monday, September 20. Thirty members have been chosen for this consortium, which services a five-parish region (St. Helena, Livingston, Tangipahoa, Washington and St. Tammany).
The consortium meeting will take place at the Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Center in Hammond. The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m.
The meeting agenda includes election of a chairperson and other officers, and a presentation on the Governor’s Health Care Reform Panel and Regional Consortium, the roles and responsibilities of the consortium, other organizational business and scheduling of future meetings.
Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting and offer comment.
“We are very pleased with the enthusiasm we have seen from citizens of this area so far, and we hope many people will attend the consortium meeting,” Senator Nevers said. “Citizen input will be an integral part of our efforts to reform health care in Louisiana.”
