Louisiana Cancer Prevention & Control Programs (LCP), Louisiana Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (LCCRT), the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) and Taking Aim at Cancer in Louisiana (TACL) will hold a press conference at the Louisiana State Capitol to increase awareness about the impact of colorectal cancer in Louisiana and new developments in health guidance and coverage. This includes the screening age being lowered to 45 and Medicaid’s recent coverage of Cologuard, an at-home screening option.
The change in recommended age for screening means all preventive screening options are now covered by Medicaid and most private insurance for individuals 45 and older.
