A new fact sheet that details Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and HPV vaccination is now available. About 14 million people, including teens, become infected with HPV yearly. HPV can cause deadly cancers. The HPV vaccination is recommended and will prevent the virus and cancer.

The Louisiana Office of Public Health (OPH) is investigating an outbreak of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infections in Louisiana. It is important that residents stay up to date on hepatitis vaccinations and that they wash their hands regularly to help prevent the spread of hepatitis A.

This manual is published so that clinics participating in the VFC program will have clear guidelines regarding immunization policies and the latest vaccination information.
