Secure .gov websites use HTTPS LDH is moving forward with a plan to distribute food benefits on EBT cards tomorrow. If the USDA, who administers the SNAP program, is prepared and ready to move money into states’ accounts this evening, we will use federal dollars to fund SNAP recipients’ accounts. If they are not ready, LDH will proceed with our state-funded program to provide food assistance to the elderly, the disabled, and households with children through their existing EBT cards.
May 18, 2024 LDH notifies Town of Killian boil water advisory can be lifted
Baton Rouge, Louisiana, - The Louisiana Department of Health Office of Public Health notified the Town of Killian on Saturday that the Killian Water System is clear to lift its boil water advisory after samples obtained from the system were negative for total coliform and E. coli.
The samples were collected after the Killian Water System returned its well back to working order as permitted. The boil water advisory was first issued on April 23.
LDH will continue to work with local officials to provide support to Killian Water System on future improvements to the system.
