Dr. Susan Berry, medical director for Children’s Special Health Services with the Department of Health and Hospitals, has been named administrator for the program. The federally-funded program is within DHH’s Office of Public Health.

The swim advisory issued for the water at Cypremort Point on Friday, Sept. 22 has been lifted. The advisory was issued because high levels of potentially unsafe bacteria were found in the water. However, additional sampling during the past few days shows the water is now acceptable for swimming.
A swimming advisory has been issued for the beach water at Cypremort Point. This advisory is being issued because water samples collected at this location showed high levels of enteric bacteria, which comes from the intestinal tracts of humans and animals. Please note that this is NOT a closure of the beach or facilities at Cypremort Point. All areas remain open for boating and land-based activities.
