  Ground Ambulance Provider Fees and Enhanced Reimbursements for Qualifying Ground Ambulance Service Providers LAC 48:I.4001 and 50.XXVII.331

  Continues the provisions of the July 1, 2019 Emergency Rule which amended the provisions governing ambulance reimbursement in order to include non-emergency ground ambulance services in the health care service provider fees for ground ambulance service providers and the enhanced reimbursement for emergency ground ambulance transportation services, in compliance with Act 299 of the 2019 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.

  Project ECHO

  A new work force development initiative at Tulane University, School of Medicine, will seek to combat the opioid epidemic by helping to reduce barriers for healthcare prescribers, treating opioid use disorders, especially in rural Louisiana by implementing project ECHO. Project will give healthcare professionals access to training, experts and resources not usually available to them.

  State Health Department schedules teen health clinic day in Lake Charles area

  The Louisiana Department of Health is holding a health clinic day for teenagers ages 13 to 19 at the Calcasieu Parish Health Unit, 3236 Kirkman St. in Lake Charles, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, October 14, 2019.

  October 2019 Final Rules

  The Louisiana Department of Health, Bureau of Health Services Financing has submitted Final Rules to the Office of the State Register for publication in the October 20, 2019 edition of the Louisiana Register in accordance with the provisions of the Administrative Procedure Act, R.S. 49:950 et seq.

  Pharmacy Benefits Management Program – Dispense as Written Electronic Prescribing LAC 50:XXIX.Chapters 1,5,7,9 and 11

  Amends the provisions governing the Pharmacy Benefits Management Program in order to allow notation of the medical necessity of brand drugs using electronic prescriptions, to allow the state to pursue outcomes-based agreements with manufacturers, and to align the provisions with the current Medicaid State Plan.

  Medication Attendant Certified – Licensing Standards

  Amends the provisions governing the licensing of individuals certified by the department to administer medications to nursing facility residents, medication attendants certified (MACs), in order to revise and update the MAC training and certification requirements.

  Medicaid Eligibility – Modified Adjusted Gross Income Groups LAC 50:III.10307

  Amends the provisions governing Medicaid eligibility for modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) groups and income factors in order to clarify and align these provisions with current Federal regulations relative to the calculation of household income.

  Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities – Reimbursement Methodology – Direct Care Floor LAC 50:VII.32901

  Amends the provisions governing reimbursement for intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities in order to correct an invalid citation in the direct care floor language and ensure that these provisions are appropriately promulgated in the Louisiana Administrative Code.

  Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities – Dedicated Program Funding Pool Payments LAC 50:VII.32917

  Adopts provisions governing reimbursement to non-state intermediate care facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to allow one-time, lump sum payments from the dedicated program funding pool in compliance with Act 50 of the 2019 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.

  Behavioral Health Services – Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Opioid Treatment Programs LAC 50:XXXIII.Chapters 151-157

  Adopts provisions governing medication-assisted opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment in Opioid Treatment Programs, for Medicaid-eligible recipients ages 18 and over, diagnosed with OUD.
