One New Confirmed Case of West Nile Virus
BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed one new human case of West Nile Virus, bringing this year’s total to 32. The new case comes from Ascension Parish. This case is reported in DHH’s weekly Louisiana Arbovirus Surveillance Summary which can be found in the Surveillance Reports Section of the DHH Web site.

Two New Confirmed Cases of West Nile Virus
BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has confirmed two new human cases of West Nile Virus, bringing this year’s total to 31. The two new cases come from East Baton Rouge and Iberia parishes. DHH Recognizes Medicaid Funding Deficit for Fiscal Year 2010-2011
Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein today recognized a $50 million funding deficit in Medicaid caused by unfunded increases in utilization. This deficit is being recognized in addition to the Department’s portion of the shortfall for FY 2010-11 also announced today.

DHH Announces Mid-Year Spending Reductions
Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein today announced mid-year reductions in department spending of state general funds, and proposed utilization of other means of financing, in order to save $20.8 million in fiscal year 2010-2011. DHH’s savings are part of an overall mid-year reduction plan for each agency to help address the state’s shortfall from FY 2010.

RFP for Residential Halfway House Inpatient Treatment Services Region VI
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals from public or private entities interested in providing inpatient residential halfway house treatment services for adult men and women and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families TANF eligible women with dependent children under the age of 12 in a free-standing(not hospital-based) setting.
