In a continuing effort to restore Vital Records services following Hurricane Katrina, the Department of Health and Hospitals has added a new call center. The call center, available at 504-219-4500, gives Vital Records staff the ability to handle the high volume of calls they have been receiving since their relocation to Metairie following the storm.

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has received approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to provide family planning services for some low and moderate-income women who are not already covered by the state’s Medicaid program.
