STATE OFFICE CLOSURE - INCLEMENT WEATHER
Commissioner of Administration Taylor Barras is announcing that all state offices in Cameron Parish will be closed Wednesday, June 17, 2026 and Thursday, June 18, 2026, due to the impending tropical storm.
All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty, report for duty, or those who should report to alternate work sites as necessary. Officials continue to monitor conditions throughout the state, and this announcement may be updated.
This office closure applies to all nonessential employees, including those authorized to work from home.
The State Advisory Committee, established by legislative act, ensures public input in an advisory capacity in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and the allocation of resources to the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities (OCDD). This input shall be derived from communication with, but not limited to, individuals with disabilities and their families and other concerned groups or individuals.
Function and Responsibility
The State Advisory Committee shall promote the coordination among the office, human service authorities and districts, and state and regional advisory committees. The State Advisory Committee shall promote responsiveness by the office to input from persons who receive developmental disabilities services and family members and providers regarding the delivery of services. The State Advisory Committee shall provide public input into the state planning process. It shall review and comment on regulations proposed by OCDD. The State Advisory Committee shall coordinate with all regional advisory committees and shall use information provided by the regional advisory committees to make recommendations to OCDD concerning issues and concerns of all Louisiana citizens with developmental disabilities. State Advisory Committee (SAC) meetings are held on the second Wednesday every other month (i e., January, March, May, July, September, November) from Noon to 3.30 p.m. The agenda with information for the public to participate as well as minutes from previous SAC meetings please click here.
