Lighten Up Louisiana Registration is now open!
Registration is now open for the Lighten Up Louisiana statewide competition for 2007. The overwhelmingly successful program encourages Louisiana citizens to get healthy by focusing on making better food choices and increasing physical activity. This time around, both the adult and kids’ versions will run at the same time. In addition, individuals as well as teams can now join the competition.

Oyster Transplant Permits Available
For a two-week period beginning March 1, 2007, Louisiana oyster harvesters can be permitted to move live oysters from the public oyster seed grounds located southwest of Point Au Fer and the South Point area.

Rural and Underserved Areas Receive Pharmacy Access Funds
The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals awarded pharmacy grants to four community-based collaborations for projects aimed at increasing access to affordable prescription drugs for residents of rural and underserved areas.
